I owe much what I’ve learned in DJing to one very special club at Hirakata-shi, Osaka, Japan – Club Mono – where I received my first residency in 2006. The venue is not much bigger than a middle-sized room but it still gets a lot of talent.
I had the opportunity not only to dj there, but also to jam with a jazz band or get involved in a rap improvisation. Although I hardly undestood a word there, the communication went smoothly thanks to music.
